Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Processing: Gather, clean, and preprocess large datasets from multiple sources for real-time market monitoring.
- Machine Learning & AI: Develop supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for identifying market patterns, pricing trends, and competition risks.
- Market Analysis & Predictive Modeling:
- Build predictive models for market competition assessment.
- Utilize Natural Language Processing (NLP) for anti-competitive behavior detection.
- Detect cartels, price-fixing, and collusion patterns in the market.
- Regulatory & Economic Research:
- Apply statistical techniques for competition market trends and economic research.
- Analyze transaction data and develop predictive strategies for regulatory enforcement.
- Data Visualization & Reporting:
- Generate reports and create clear visual representations of analytical findings.
- Work closely with legal and enforcement teams to provide empirical evidence for policy decisions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: MSc/M.Phil/Ph.D. in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Machine Learning, AI, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in data preparation, analysis, research, and graphics.
- Full working knowledge of competition-related matters.
- Strong ability to work with large datasets and perform quantitative analysis.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Pakistan’s competitive market landscape is a plus.
General Terms & Conditions:
- The appointment is on a contract basis for 2 years, extendable based on performance.
